4 Grid-patterned monitors, stainless steel, cement
45x124x118cm
This large-scale media installation captures the movement of a camera scanning the façades of urban buildings and the interiors of architectural spaces. Exploring light as a material substance, the artist focuses on the relationships between the city, space, light, and shadow. The work presents typified gestures and figures that inhabit a city without darkness, where the boundaries between interior and exterior dissolve. Video images are continuously reflected across the combination of monitors and stainless-steel structures, creating a layered interplay of light and movement.
In this work, the camera alternates between architectural surfaces, interior furnishings, urban nature, and the subtle gestures of hands and female figures that linger within. The contrast of light and shadow, the gaze that traces architectural forms, and the voyeuristic perspective that peers into interior spaces evoke a quiet tension. The atmosphere of unease embedded within the city’s comfort seeps through its architectural skin into its depths.
