In this event, multiple professional galleries each present a single artist. This format highlights the gallery’s core role in discovering artists and supporting their promotion and marketing. Shinsegae, founded in 1930 and now Korea’s largest department store, has long been a place of creative exchange, built on strong marketing and customer engagement. Through the Solo Show at Shinsegae, contemporary art creates another form of exchange, while offering a space and time that support a rich and relaxed quality of life.
Since its launch in 2018, the Solo Show has been held only in Seoul. This is its first edition outside the capital city. By taking place in Busan, it opens opportunities for exchange with local galleries and for broader discussion about the growth of regional art scenes, giving the project added significance.
